Household plan: online design guide (page four)
Recommendations on what to communicate in page four of the online design guide
ALPHA
Overview
Aim: address common questions residents may have about clean heating options, how decisions are made and what the transition could mean for their home.
This page should help clarify common concerns and provide straightforward explanations, while directing residents to trusted sources if they want to learn more.
What page four should communicate
Page four should answer the common questions residents might have. These questions often relate to practical concerns about cost, disruption, responsibility and how decisions are made. Providing clear answers can help reduce uncertainty and prevent misunderstandings about what the plan means for households.
Here are questions we included in the prototype:
1. Do I have to change my heating?
2. Has a decision already been made for my home?
3. Will I be sharing heat with neighbours?
4. Will this increase my bills?
5. What if I rent my home?
6. Will my street be dug up?
7. Will installers contact me directly?
8. How do I know installers are trustworthy?
9. What if I want an individual heat pump but I’m not ready?
10. Are these technologies new?
11. Are heat pumps noisy?
12. What if I’m interested but a scheme is not ready for my home or street?
13. Can I see the technologies in action?
